A panel of United Nations consultants strongly criticized the execution of Mohammad Ghobadlou, a 23-year-old protester with a long-term psychosocial incapacity.
The consultants together with Javaid Rehman, Special Rapporteur on the state of affairs of human rights within the Islamic Republic of Iran; and Morris Tidball-Binz, Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, abstract or arbitrary executions referred to as on Iran to uphold its commitments underneath worldwide human rights legislation.
“We are alarmed by experiences of unfair trial proceedings within the case of Mr. Ghobadlou, in addition to in different instances, which fell far in need of due course of and honest trial requirements required by worldwide human rights legislation by which Iran is certain,” the UN consultants stated.
Ghobadlou, arrested on September 22, 2022, in reference to nationwide protests confronted accusations of killing an Iranian official in Robat Karim, Tehran Province, and was sentenced to loss of life on prices of “corruption on earth.”
