Ingredients:
- 1 cup of dried apricots, chopped
- 1/2 cup of pitted dates, chopped
- 1/4 cup of golden raisins
- 1/4 cup of slivered almonds
- 1/4 cup of pistachios, roughly chopped
- 1/4 cup of walnut items
- 1/4 cup of recent orange juice
- 1/4 cup of rosewater
- 1/2 teaspoon of floor cardamom
- A pinch of saffron threads, gently crushed
- 2 tablespoons of honey (or extra, to style)
- 1 tablespoon of orange zest
- A pinch of salt
Instructions:
- Begin by soaking the dried apricots in heat water for about an hour to melt them. Drain and put aside.
- In a medium saucepan, mix the apricots, dates, raisins, almonds, pistachios, and walnuts. Add the orange juice, rosewater, cardamom, saffron, honey, orange zest, and a pinch of salt.
- Cook the combination over low warmth, stirring sometimes, till the fruits soften and the combination turns into thick and sticky, about 20 minutes.
- Once the Maghoot has reached the specified consistency, take away from warmth and permit it to chill barely.
- Serve the Maghoot heat or at room temperature, garnished with further chopped nuts and a drizzle of honey if desired.
