Cyberattack Forces Shutdown of New Jersey School District


On Jan. 28, the Freehold Township School District knowledgeable its employees, households, and college students that its faculties and places of work can be closed immediately because of a cybersecurity incident.

School officers stated that due to the incident, the
District
positioned in Freehold, NJ, was experiencing technical difficulties and that it’s
working with third-party cybersecurity consultants
to handle the difficulty.

Dianne Martello Brethauer, the district assistant superintendent,
apologized on her X account
(previously often known as Twitter) for the inconvenience after asserting the disruption the district is dealing with.

“There’s an ongoing investigation,” Michael Amoroso, president of the Freehold Township Board of Education
stated this morning
“We’ll actually make an announcement about (Tuesday’s schedule) when the time comes. There’s folks engaged on it all through the day.”

No extra data concerning the nature of the assault has been launched.
