Iran/MENA: Flood Final Report, Operation Number MDRIR008 – Iran (Islamic Republic)

A. Situation evaluation

According to the Iranian Meteorological Organization, heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms started in most provinces of Iran on January 1, 2022 and lasted for 4 days. More than 80,000 individuals have been affected in 20 states. The worst affected provinces have been Sistan-Baluchestan (southern), Hormozgan (jap), Kerman and Fars, Bushehr, and Khuzestan. Floods triggered injury to energy provide, roads/entry/infrastructure, agricultural land, bridges, livestock farming, housing/residential buildings, and ingesting water provide schemes.

The flash flood killed 10 individuals in Chabahar and Mehrestan districts in Sistan Baluchestan province, Darab, Rameld and Beyram districts in Fars province, and Sirjan district in Kerman province. As a results of the flooding, transport was halted and aid provides have been delivered to flood-affected cities by IRCS air rescue helicopters. The victims have been evacuated to a secure location by IRCS rescue groups. Outpatient companies have been supplied to the injured, and the injured have been transported to a medical heart. In addition to rescue and aid operations, help employees pumped water out of 570 houses and recovered 290 automobiles. The worst-hit areas have been within the south of Sistan-Baluchestan province.
