(WJET/WFXP) — A neighborhood center college has been positioned on mushy lockdown after police have been known as and pepper spray was used after a suspected combat between college students.
On Friday round 1:50 p.m., Erie Public Schools and Erie Police Officers acquired a report of an incident at Strong Vincent Middle School requiring help.
The combat broke out within the college’s cafeteria, and district officers unsuccessfully tried to interrupt it up and used pepper spray. Erie Police are presently investigating the state of affairs.
We reached out to Strong Vincent for an announcement, and Erie Public Schools officers stated:
“Erie Public Schools law enforcement officials and Erie Police Department officers responded to a combat involving a gaggle of Strong Vincent Middle School college students within the college cafeteria this afternoon. District law enforcement officials de-escalated the state of affairs. However, these efforts proved unsuccessful and pepper spray was in the end used. The college was positioned on mushy lockdown as a precautionary measure for the security of workers and college students. Police with the Erie Police Department Officials eliminated plenty of college students from college grounds. The college district is totally cooperating with the Erie Police Department’s ongoing investigation. We will evaluate right now’s incident and supply help to college students and workers within the coming days. The security of our workers and college students is our prime precedence.”
