Iran’s foreign minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, spoke at a meeting with Iraq’s deputy foreign minister, Mohammed Hussein Mohammed Bahr AlUloom, in Tehran on Sunday.
During the meeting, the Iranian diplomat praised the strong relations between Iran and Iraq, citing the frequent visits and cooperation agreements between the two countries as evidence of their friendly ties.
Amir-Abdollahian also commended Iraq’s efforts to promote stability in the region and called for international action to address the actions of the Israeli regime in Gaza.
He also highlighted the positive progress in implementing the security agreement between Iran and Iraq and stressed the importance of fully operationalizing all its terms.
The Iraqi deputy foreign minister condemned the long-standing occupation of Palestinian land by Israel and urged unity among the Palestinians and the Islamic world in defending Palestine.
