Local tribes are receiving about $1 million to bolster their cybersecurity.
The Department of Homeland Security introduced the funding this week.
In whole, greater than $18 million will likely be made accessible to tribes throughout the United States as a part of the Tribal Cybersecurity Grant Program.
The Sokaogon Chippewa Community is among the program’s first recipients.
This grant program was established by bipartisan infrastructure laws.

The Sokaogon Chippewa Community will obtain $900,000.
