Randy Weingarten, a left-wing activist and president of the US’s second-largest lecturers union, has left the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and is dissatisfied by the variations with management and the committee’s course.
Weingarten, who leads the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and an influential member of the DNC, has been an influential member of the DNC for 23 years and wrote to DNC Chairman Ken Martin, displaying that she is in battle with the committee’s management, Politico first reported.
“I’m proud to be a Democrat, however I appear to be a step away from the management you are forge, and I do not need to query why we’re not increasing our tents and actively attempt to entice the group,” she wrote in a June 5 letter.
“As all the time, AFT will proceed to be a frontrunner in selecting public schooling and advocating for household candidates, and might be significantly engaged within the elections of 2025-26,” she added.
