FlyNas Transports Over 11 Million Passengers in Saudi Arabia in 2023

The Saudi Arabian airline FlyNas has announced an increase in the number of its passengers by more than 28% compared to the previous year, reaching over 11.1 million passengers in 2023.

According to Arab News, the budget airline FlyNas received 19 new aircraft during the past year, increasing its fleet to 64 aircraft, a growth of over 35%.

FlyNas stated that it is moving forward based on a strategic plan for growth and development with the slogan “Connecting the world to the Kingdom [of Saudi Arabia].”

During 2023, the airline added 57 new destinations to its flight network, opened its fourth operational base at Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, and increased its seat capacity on domestic and international flights by 22%.

Bandar Al Mohanna, CEO of FlyNas, emphasized that the airline’s performance in 2023 “reflects the strength of the business model, the distinct efforts made, and the effectiveness of FlyNas’s strategic plan for growth and development.”

He noted that investments in increasing the fleet and expanding the flight network have helped FlyNas become one of the top four low-cost airlines in the world and the best in the Middle East.

Al Mohanna also added that FlyNas has signed a contract with Airbus to purchase 30 new aircraft as part of a 120-aircraft order worth $8.5 billion and intends to increase this order to 250 aircraft.

The CEO further stated, “The airline is determined to continue expanding its activities in increasing new destinations as the aviation industry in Saudi Arabia is undergoing unprecedented development due to the economic progress in the country.”

For the ninth consecutive year, the prestigious World Travel Awards named FlyNas the best low-cost airline in the Middle East in 2023.

As part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to reduce its reliance on oil and transform into one of the world’s largest tourist destinations by 2030, the country has increased its investment in the aviation industry. FlyNas also plans to increase its number of aircraft and destinations as part of this initiative.

FlyNas commenced its operations in 2007 under the name Nas Air. A portion of the airline’s shares is owned by Kingdom Holding Company, owned by Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal.
