According to the chief executive of energy giant E. ON, the security of gas supply in Germany has improved since Russia cut off deliveries last winter. However, instability in the Middle East could lead to an increase in gas prices as Germany now depends on liquefied natural gas from the Persian Gulf region.
Leonhard Birnbaum stated in an interview with the Rheinische Post newspaper, cited by Reuters on Tuesday, that Germany’s gas supply situation is much better than it was at the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
