Tamar Goldenberg, a 23-year-old vibrant and free-spirited individual, tragically lost her life in a Hamas terrorist attack at the Nova Music Festival on October 7th. She attended the event with her close friends, siblings Gideon and Noa Chiell, who also perished in the attack.
For two harrowing weeks, Tamar’s family, consumed by distress and hope, searched for her. They scoured hospitals, examined bodies, and provided DNA samples in a desperate quest for any sign of her survival. Her sister, Mary Lobaton, recounted on Channel 12 news how their father braved the front lines amidst the IDF’s battle against the terrorists, determined to find his daughter.
The agonizing wait ended with the heartbreaking news that Tamar’s body had been found. Her funeral was held on October 22 in Rishon Lezion, leaving behind her grieving parents, Tatiana and Gocha, her sister Mary, two nieces, and her boyfriend, Lior.
Mary Lobaton, in a touching tribute on Facebook, described Tamar as someone who embraced life with zeal, indifferent to materialistic pursuits. Tamar was known for her spontaneity and love for life’s pleasures, from shopping and singing to dancing and enjoying nature. Her sister reminisced about their contrasting personalities, highlighting the unique bond they shared.
Lior Somantia, Tamar’s boyfriend of 6.5 years, shared his profound grief and fond memories of their time together. He described Tamar as the most unique person he had ever met, whose smile and spirit are now missed every moment. He expressed his disbelief and pain at her loss, reflecting on their deep connection and shared experiences. Lior’s heartfelt words on their relationship underscored an enduring love, now transformed into a memory to cherish forever.
Tamar’s untimely death has not only left a void in the lives of her loved ones but also serves as a somber reminder of the ongoing conflict’s impact on innocent lives.
