The Secretary-General has the distinction of transmitting to the General Assembly the report of the Special Rapporteur on the state of affairs of human rights within the Islamic Republic of Iran, Javaid Rehman, submitted pursuant to Human Rights Council decision 52/27.

The Special Rapporteur on the state of affairs of human rights within the Islamic Republic of Iran has submitted his sixth report back to the General Assembly, pursuant to Human Rights Council decision 52/27, during which he particulars patterns, traits, progress and considerations arising from the state of affairs. states. I. Introduction
1. This report is submitted pursuant to Human Rights Council decision 52/27, which requested the Special Rapporteur to report back to the General Assembly at its 78th session on the state of affairs of human rights within the Islamic Republic of Iran. The report consists of data collected by way of July 31, 2023, from the federal government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, non-governmental organizations, media retailers, and particular person interviews with victims of human rights violations, their households, and attorneys.
