Iran and Kuwait discuss broadening bilateral relations

On Sunday, Mohammad Toutounchi and Mohammad Othman Al-Eyban discussed the cooperation between the two neighboring and Muslim countries.

Toutounchi emphasized the establishment of a joint trade committee, expansion of trade cooperation, provision of customs and port facilities to Iranian barge owners, and establishment of trade exchanges through land as the most important levers for the development of economic diplomacy between the two countries.

The Kuwaiti minister, on his part, stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran is an important actor in the region and that the potential of the two countries’ neighborhood should be activated more than before.

Al-Eyban also highlighted the importance of food security for Kuwait and expressed the country’s need for high-quality Iranian products. He expressed hope to see an increase in the amount of trade between the two countries.
