Netanyahu Warns Iran and Hezbollah: If they escalate the war, they will face attacks they never dreamed of

Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, warned the Islamic Republic and Hezbollah that if they escalate the war, they will face attacks that they could not even dream of.

According to Times of Israel, Netanyahu, in his weekly press briefing on Saturday, December 30, called the Iranian government “the axis of evil,” a country that, he said, leads aggression against Israel in various fronts and threatens the entire free world.

He added that Israel continues to confront the Islamic Republic and acts against Iran wherever and however possible. The Prime Minister of Israel also promised to do whatever it takes to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Netanyahu made these remarks after the Israeli military bombarded the positions of Iranian-backed militias in Lebanon and Syria for the umpteenth time in recent days. These series of Israeli attacks have left dozens dead and wounded.

In this press briefing, Netanyahu criticized Naftali Bennett, the former Prime Minister of Israel, for his public remarks about Israel’s attacks on Iran, calling it “irresponsible,” and saying he is not qualified to speak on the matter.

His reference was to an article published by Naftali Bennett in the Wall Street Journal, in which Bennett revealed that, when he was Prime Minister in 2022, he ordered the security forces to carry out two attacks in Iran.

One day before the end of the current year, the Prime Minister of Israel says that the war in Gaza will last for months. He continued in this press briefing, saying, “Israel is fighting on all fronts and needs more time to achieve victory.”

With nearly 12 weeks since the start of the widespread attacks on Gaza, Israel has not yet achieved its objectives in this war. Therefore, Netanyahu added that the war will continue to achieve the main goals of the attack on Gaza, which are the “destruction of Hamas” and “the return of the hostages to their homes.”

According to Netanyahu, more than 8,000 Hamas fighters have been killed so far, and the military capabilities of Hamas are gradually being destroyed.

The Prime Minister of Israel also promised to continue fighting Hezbollah until security is established for the residents of the northern country, where, he said, due to the repeated attacks of Hezbollah, its residents were forced to evacuate their homes.
