DUBAI, Jan 14 (Reuters) – Two Iranian journalists who had been jailed on fees associated to Iran‘s 2022-2023 protests have been briefly launched, state media reported on Sunday.
An Iranian Revolutionary Court in October sentenced Niloofar Hamedi and Elaheh Mohammadi to 13 and 12 years in jail respectively for his or her protection of the loss of life in custody of Kurdish- Iranian Mahsa Amini which sparked nationwide protests.
“After 17 months in jail, the 2 journalists have been briefly launched after paying bail awaiting their attraction verdict and are banned from leaving the nation,” state media mentioned.
Amini’s loss of life, whereas held by the morality police for allegedly violating Iran‘s strict costume code, triggered months of mass anti-government protests, one of many boldest challenges to the nation’s clerical leaders in a long time.
