Kurdish Political Prisoners Executed by Iran in Karaj

In December 2023, Branch 26 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Tehran sentenced 4 people to demise on fees of “spying for Israel.” The Supreme Court later upheld the decision in early January.

After 19 months of enforced disappearance orchestrated by the Ministry of Intelligence, the households of the 4 have been allowed a quick face-to-face assembly on January 28.

On January 27, the households of the political prisoners have been summoned to Evin Prison by the Enforcement of Judgments Office of Tehran Court. They have been informed that the prisoners could be transferred from Ghezel Hesar Prison to Evin Prison for household visits.

The 4 people – Faramarzi, 28, from Dehgolan, Kurdistan Province; Mazloum, 27, from Mahabad, West Azerbaijan Province; Azarbar, 26, from Bukan, West Azerbaijan Province; and Fatehi, 28, from Kamyaran, Kurdistan Province – have been arrested by the Ministry of Intelligence in a village in Orumiyeh, West Azerbaijan Province, on 22 June 2022.

They have been denied household visits till the day earlier than their execution, and there was no details about their whereabouts throughout their detention.

Their appointed lawyer was additionally denied conferences, courtroom appearances, and entry to case data throughout their authorized proceedings.

The safety providers of the Islamic Republic of Iran twice broadcast pressured confessions from the 4 political prisoners on state tv, alleging hyperlinks with the Israeli secret service Mossad.

A program claimed that the Komala members had been arrested in Isfahan, Isfahan Province, contradicting the household’s assertion to KHRN that “opposite to the Ministry of Intelligence’s claims, these people have been solely despatched to Orumiyeh for organizational and political actions and didn’t carry any weapons.”
