Deployment of Fort Drum troopers to the Middle East and Central Asia is imminent

Fort Drum troopers will deploy to missions within the Middle East, Central Asia, and Europe this spring.

Major General Greg Anderson, Fort Drum’s commander, stated in an announcement the brigade “has intentionally ready for this mission for a number of months.”

Several items from Fort Drum’s 1st Cavalry Division, and 1st and third Brigade Combat Teams will rotate in to Europe this spring to assist the US dedication to NATO’s allies and companions.

The tenth Mountain Division, based mostly close to Watertown at Fort Drum, is among the many most deployed divisions within the US army for the reason that Nineties, with dozens of high-profile missions to Afghanistan, Iraq, Kosovo, Somalia, and Kuwait.
