PITTSBURGH — A grandmother who was on her approach to see her new child grandson died on the best way to the hospital Monday.
Mary Alice Bendick labored for half a day after which headed down East Carson Street to McGee. She known as her daughter Shelby on the best way.
Shelby Thompson instructed Channel 11, “She was so excited to have her third grandchild. She was so excited to give up her job and go there.”

On his approach to Magee, Bendick was killed. The truck crossed the middle line and hit Mary Alice’s SUV.
“It’s only a nightmare. You see somebody for a second, then a couple of minutes later they name you after which they’re gone,” Thompson stated.
Bendick’s husband, a railroad conductor, instructed Channel 11 that the accident interrupted journey on the tracks and he or she needed to wait till the accident cleared.
He didn’t know that the girl who died within the accident was his spouse.

Officials stated the girl was a former Pittsburgh medic who was fired from her job final fall after coming to work drunk.
