Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi Reinvited to Munich Security Conference After Initial Cancellation

Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, the exiled Iranian opposition chief, has been reinstated as a participant within the upcoming Munich Security Conference (MSC) after an preliminary withdrawal of his invitation. The MSC confirmed, “We can verify that the invitation to Mr. Pahlavi to the MSC 2025 might be maintained.” 

Earlier reviews indicated that the German Foreign Ministry had influenced the MSC to rescind Pahlavi’s invitation, citing considerations over bilateral relations with Tehran and the potential influence on German dual-national prisoners in Iran.  The German Foreign Ministry, nevertheless, acknowledged that the MSC decides independently on its invites.
