Iranian Regime’s Desperate Misinformation Campaign to Undermine Student Protests

Following current scholar protests in Tehran and widespread expressions of solidarity with the justice-seeking motion for Amir Mohammad Khaleqi, Amirkabir Newsletter has issued an announcement condemning the Iranian regime’s safety equipment and its political allies for making an attempt to misrepresent and hijack the motion.

According to Amirkabir Newsletter, within the early hours following the brave demonstrations by college students and lecturers, the Islamic Republic’s intelligence companies—together with the Ministry of Intelligence and the IRGC Intelligence Organization—together with their cyber operations unit and so-called “Disgraced Soldiers of Imam Zaman”, launched a widespread misinformation marketing campaign. This marketing campaign, reportedly in coordination with reformist teams and the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MEK), sought to falsely affiliate Amirkabir Newsletter and scholar protests with these teams, aiming to delegitimize the motion.

The editorial board of Amirkabir Newsletter strongly condemned this “determined and shameful” maneuver, viewing it as an try to pave the best way for harsher crackdowns on college students. The assertion emphasised the publication’s agency stance in opposition to each reformists and the MEK, accusing them of betraying the Iranian folks and the scholar motion.

“All these claims are baseless,” the assertion learn, stressing that these making such allegations have failed to supply any proof to help their accusations.
