Iran’s Jafar Panahhi gained Cannes’s high prize: “It was simply an accident”


Cannes, France, May 24 (Reuters) – “It was simply an accident” Iranian director Jafar Panahi gained the Cannes Film Festival’s Top Award at Parme Festival on Saturday.

Panahi, who was arrested a number of instances for filmmaking, was final seen on the pageant in 2003, when “Crimson Gold” was screened in a sure class of the United Nations.

“Art mobilizes the artistic power of our most treasured and most dwelling components: its energy to forgive, hope, and remodel the darkness into a brand new life,” stated Juliet Binoche, chairman of the juice who introduced the award.

Vahid is making an attempt to substantiate that he’s truly their torturer with the opposite jail survivors and resolve what to do with him.

The Grand Prix, the second highest award after Palme d’Or, was awarded to “Emotional Values” by acclaimed director Joachim Trier.

Ready to return to Iran after Cannes, director Panahi is able to work on his subsequent movie
