House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) mentioned Sunday on ABC’s “this week” that if Democrats acquire management of the House within the 2026 midterm elections, they may try to fireside every President Donald Trump within the first week.
Host Jonathan Carle mentioned, “I requested by way of the specter of chasing Republicans who vote for the invoice. So are you nervous about that? Musk has some huge cash when he begins to get entangled within the Republican main. How does that matter to you?
Johnson mentioned, “Well, I feel that is a giant mistake. I feel Elon is aware of why he was concerned in serving to President Trump win and get Republicans win a majority within the House.
“The insurance policies of different groups aren’t good for these issues. And he is aware of it on the finish of the day. And as soon as the feelings settle, he thinks he’ll understand that we have now no selection. We should maintain a majority within the House of Representatives within the mid-term elections of 2026. Congress in January 2027. It will likely be a catastrophe for our public coverage, our economic system and all different international locations.”
