On his look on MSNBC on Monday, Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) denied regretting his protection of unlawful immigrant Kilmer Abrego Garcia, who has returned to the United States.
Abrego Garcia faces human smuggling charges.
“Oh, I’ve no regrets, Anna, about defending the US Constitution,” he declared. “And these statements come from people who don’t respect professional procedures or the US Constitution. The President, his associates, need to ignore and sacrifice individuals’s constitutional rights to impose political opinions on the nation.
Van Hollen stated, “And lastly, we have been all I wished from the beginning, we had simply heard from them and so they would not permit him to take him into the professional course of. They want to boost it and defend the 9-0 sentence. And that is what we’re doing on this case.”
